Freak and Mighty

My Prediction: Freak trys to find out more about his dad and ends up doing something that is pretty stupid, like going back to the tenants!! Without Max to protect him!! Mighty starts to ask Grim and Gram about his father. He thinks he will be getting out of prison anytime soon Mighty bugs Grim and Gram so much that he finally convinces then to take him to see his father in jail for the first time!! When Mighty leaves from visiting his Father he has so much on his mind that it feels like his head is going to explode. He spends all night thinking about it, and he feels a strong affection for his dad and a strong disaffection toward him because he left him!!!
Freak and Mighty were so curios about what happend that day that they could think and talk about was that. They stopped doing quest because they could not keep their mind on anything else for longer than 5 minutes!!!

Dear Susan Davis:

I am writing to ask you to support the idea of enforcing renewable energy. Our district, city, state, country, and world need it!
I am in sixth grade and go to High Tech Middle Media Arts in Point Loma. I really like what you have been doing to preserve the national forest, and parks, also beaches and wild life.
I am afraid that is not enough!! If we let this non-renewable energy crises go on, it hurts the whole cycle of life! It starts small but everything is connected in the cycle.
I’d like to show you several of the benefits to using renewable energy:
• The air will be much cleaner
• Future generations will live longer and better
• The animals will be healthy
• Our environment will be saved.
Some political interference might be that we rely on energy, even though it might be easier, cheaper to get non-renewable. In the long term, it will be much easier and significantly cheaper to go renewable!!
I would like to try to paint a picture in your head of what I see. When I think of non-renewable energy I think of dark gray skies, nobody smiling because we are all in cars and there is a ton of traffic. Fumes are coming out of our engines like it is air. I see no birds flying in the sky. There are no trees in miles that I can see!! But there are skyscrapers on every corner, sort of like Starbucks.
Now I would like to show you what I think about when I think of renewable energy. The sky is baby blue; there is not a cloud in the sky. Everybody is smiling. We are all on bikes or walking, there are very few people in cars. There are trees everywhere and it is so green. We are all HAPPY!!
I hope you can see the picture that I have in my head. I know it is way too extreme but through my eyes, that is what is happening already! We just need to start now and take small and steady steps to using non-renewable energy.
Some ways to get people started on renewable energy are:
• Start suggesting more hybrid vehicles. Give some tax breaks so people could afford to get hybrids.
• Encourage use of energy efficient light bulbs
• Build more windmills, even though they cost a lot to make, after they are made there is practically no maintenance needed. Plus, we save money and it is eco-friendly.
• Put more solar panels on top of buildings. Our climate in San Diego County is very warm, 90 percent of the time the sun is out, and so it is perfect for solar panels.
Thank you for all you have done so far on pushing us toward renewable energy! Please keep pushing- my future depends on it.

Sincerely,
Katie Gavares

Dear Susan Davis:

Hello, my name is Katie Gavares. I am in sixth grade and go to High Tech Middle Media Arts in Point Loma. I really like what you have been doing to preserve the national forest, and parks, also beaches and wild life.
I am afraid that is not enough!! I think matters are a little more severe than we thought. All that you have worked on will not matter, because if we let this non-renewable energy crises go on it hurts the whole cycle of life! It starts small but everything is connected in the cycle. I think if we start to make some changes with switching to renewable energy then we can slowly move to no non-renewable energy at all. I do not expect to do that in a blink of an eye, but start small see knows what we can do!
I’d like to show you several the benefits to using renewable energy; One, the air will be much cleaner. Two, future generations will live longer and better. Three, think about the animals it is not just about us, when this global warming effect actually happens it will affect them not just us. They are losing their habitats, and each other. Four, our environment, non-renewable energy relates to global warming and that is melting our ice caps, scientists have proven that it will flood all of New York City and a lot other places on the coast line. That’s not all; this also affects our economy which is not doing too well now. Those are some benefits and effects of relying on non-renewable energy.
I am aware that some of our big factories are built so that they can only run on oil or maybe petroleum and it would cost a lot of money to change it. But I am saying that if we change everything else maybe we would have to change those factories that would cost so much to replace! Other political interferences might be that we cannot live without energy!! We rely on energy, even though it might be easier to get non-renewable or cheaper, in long term it will be way easier and way cheaper to go renewable!!
I would like to try to paint a picture in your head of what I see. Freak and Mighty

I read the first chapter of Freak and Mighty. So far what I know about the characters are that mighty is a pretty big person. When he was a baby they just thought he was growing fast. Mighty was a tempermental baby, he could not be held he would kicke and hurt other children his age and older, he like to be angry. Then you have Freak, he is the type of character you usually feel bad for. Freak did not go to child care like most of the other children his age, if he did go it was for 2 or 3 days and then nobody saw him for a wile. Freak always had his cruches and sometimes he would have big shinny metal braces around his knees. He would always protend he was a robot man. After preschool Mighty never saw Freak again, till one day in late 5th year he swa freak diriving by his school one reces and he reconized him at once as the robot man.

Hoot

Hoot is this story about a kid who has now where to go and a nother boy who has a great famaliy but they move for their fathers job. The other kid mullet fingers did not go to school and did not leave with anybody, he was alone. But every day Beatrice his step sister would come and give him food. This chapter was the first chapter of the story and it was explaning the story ans it gave a sence that the two boys did not have many friends and Roy (the normal boy) had just moved from montana and did not fitin at florida. He was being bullyed. He had a scence in loging to go home. I can relate to this amazingly, because in second grade i took a trip around the USA for 4 months in an RV with my famaliy. I missed my friends so bad, i missed my home, i missed my dog i missed waking up in the morning nowing exactaly what i need to do today. Mullet finger on the other hand love being free and did not care much for scheduel and organization, he had hos mind set on owls. Their is a site in florida that was a home to a bunch of owls. They were going to build a pankake factory on their home cause the pancake factory was so big it did not care!!! So Mullet finger was so ditermed. I have not felt that ditermind as this boy before but you could just tell but the way the author expalind it nothing could ever syop him. This is my second time reading this book cause the way the author explains everything it feel so real and the story is so touching and meaningful that it is worth reading many times over again!!!

GOAL!!!!

When soccer season starts I am so exited. I go get a new ball (which is always pink) and new cleats. I enjoy soccer in so many different ways, the exercise, the actual game and the friends I meet. I have played soccer with a lot of different teams; I started playing competitive with Blast then I did not like it so switched back to recreational with the Warriors. Now I am with the Limeonaters. We always have a cheesy name that just comes with the soccer experience!! Your name usually depends on the color of your jersey. For example, when I had purple jersey, my team name was The Purple Dolphins. Another year was the warriors. This spring season I have soccer practice every Monday and Thursday evenings and games on Sundays.

My friend Piper and I both enjoy trying new things, so we agreed on soccer. Honestly my first impression of soccer was that it was a sweaty sport that did not take much effort to play because all you do is kick the ball around. But, when my first soccer practice was over I knew that this was my sport and I would play it forever!!!

In soccer you can get pretty hurt. That’s why we wear so much protection. We wear shin guards for our shins and ankle guards for your ankles and cleats for your feet. Since we can only touch the ball with our feet you don’t need pads on our arms.

Soccer has pretty simple rules; you can only touch the ball with you feet except the Goalie can pick up the ball. The object of the game is to score more goals than the other team. You have positions like baseball. There are defenders that protect the goal so the other team has a hard time getting the goal in the net. Then you have midfielders who stay mostly in the middle. But, they can run all the way up to the other goal unlike the defenders and can run back to their goal unlike the offenders. The offenders are always at about the half line. When the ball gets kicked up field, they are there to dribble it up the field and shoot. I prefer to play offense, but my coach puts me in midfield because I am one of the fastest runners on my team.

In some long soccer practices I question why I still absolutely love soccer. When I get to the game and everybody is tired, I get a perfect pass from my teammate, and then the excitement begins. Players throwing them selves at me left and right and I dodge all of them. When I get to the goal, all the sounds disappear, it is quiet, the sun is beating on my face, it is just me the goalie and a huge net behind her.

I kick the ball so hard it hits the goalie with all that anxiety that was built up though that entire game, the goalie lets the ball slip. SCORE!!!!! Then all the sounds come back and I get high fives from teammates and hear cheerful comments from your mom. That feeling, as short as it is, is the best feeling that you could ever have. It reminds me why I have played soccer for 6 years straight.

That night when I am lying in bed I think of that feeling and it always puts a smile on my face before I go to bed!!!

I LOVE SOCCER!!!!!!!

Harry Potter

I just read a chapter from harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban!!! Harry potter is about a boy who's parents got murder by a dark wizard and he was forced to live with his annoying obnoxious aunt and uncle who treat him poorly. Once he discovers all about his magical powers and that he is a wizard, he goes of to the school for wizards and witches it is called "Hogwarts's school of witch craft and wizardry".

I choose this piece of my reading, because this is when his aunt started to make fun of his parents so he lost it and cast a spell on her and ran away. I could feel how angry he must be cause the description in the book. When harry had ran away and was thinking about what he had just don he was worried. About that time I had realized that, his feeling were something that I could not personally relate to but i know some friends who could. They felt like they had now where to go anymore and was lonely. It was a hard time for them and they were very depressed all the time!!!!

I think every kind should read this book because the emotions that you feel and the adventure he takes and the perspective of life all together in this book is a whole new world!!!I think that the Harry Potter is very easy to relate to when you are a kid, even if it is just in a little way it connects and stays with you.
